An activity program is available and offers a wide variety of activities to meet the individual needs of all residents, including those who are unable to leave their rooms. Activities are provided as an integral part of the total nursing home care program to encourage restoration of self-care and resumption of normal activities. Religious Services
Religious services are scheduled regularly. Families and friends are welcome to join in these services in our Chapel. We encourage families to take residents to community church services whenever possible.

Many denominations visit residents on a routine basis. Clergy may be requested to visit at other times when there is a serious illness or when a special need is requested by the resident or his/her family.

Wheelchair for a Day
Wheelchairs are available to residents leaving the home for medical appointments, shopping, or visits with relatives. A wheelchair may be borrowed free of charge by arrangement with the charge nurse.

Resident Council
A resident's council made up of the residents of the facility provides a channel through which a resident may voice any dissatisfaction he/she may have with the facility. Recommendations for change may be made through the resident council and put into practice whenever beneficial for the residents.

Resident Outings
Arrangements for days out should be made in advance whenever possible. This enables the charge nurse to obtain medications from the pharmacy and notify the Dietary Department. A Leave of Absence release form must be signed by the resident or responsible party before the resident leaves the facility.

Shopping and Transportation
When a resident is in need of clothing or other items, the resident's family is encouraged to take him/her shopping or to purchase the necessary items. For those residents requiring shopping services, the Activities Department is available to make the purchases for them.
